that's a kind of person i wanted to see as a senator.
a person with a strong principles in life. he always stands on what he think is right and wrong.
Escudero will hold a presscon around 11am Manila time to discuss the issue at hand. I hope his rabid fans, those "pom pom wielding cheerleaders" and "groupies" would be present today so whatever comments they make would be posted by our fellow Istoryan..

Opposition solons irked at Escudero style of leadership

“UNGRATEFUL” and “coward” was how a disgruntled opposition lawmaker described House Minority Leader Francis Escudero for stripping him and other defiant members of their posts for not supporting the impeachment bid against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
An irked Quezon City Representative Vincent “Bing-bong” Crisologo stopped the minority's attempt Tuesday night to read in the plenary the replacement of its four deputy minority leaders, including himself, Representatives Luis Asistio (Caloocan), Oscar Malapitan (Quezon) and Antonio Serapio (Valenzuela).
Iloilo Representative Rolex Suplico was reading the names of the new deputy minority leaders when Crisologo questioned the lack of quorum, a move that resulted in the adjournment of the session a little past 8 p.m.
Speaking with INQ7.net after the session, Crisologo unleashed all his sentiments against Escudero.
“Remember, Mr. Escudero was elected as minority floor leader because of the four of us. Without the four of us, (he would not have been) the minority leader. He is an ungrateful person,” he said.
Crisologo claimed that they were the swing vote that made Escudero the head of the House minority having the second highest vote in the speakership bid in 2004.
San Juan Representative Ronaldo Zamora and Negros Oriental Representative Jacinto Paras also lost to Speaker Jose de Venecia.
“If we are taken out as deputy minority leaders, we did not seek for it. It was offered to us by Escudero because we supported him,” Crisologo said.
“Nagmamakaawa si Escudero sa amin and since he was the youngest and we thought at that time that he was the most promising, and I think we've been proven wrong, we went for him. I think, he's an ungrateful person,” he stressed.
He said the minority leader was willing to sacrifice anything, even his friends, just to get what he wants.
Crisologo said Escudero was also a coward for passing on to Suplico the task of reading their replacements in the plenary.
He said the problem with Escudero was that he allowed himself to be used by other people for their own vested interests.
He particularly cited Cavite Representative Gilbert Remulla, one of those who insisted that disciplinary action be imposed upon those who did not support the impeachment of the President.

So much for the intrigue.
Indecision by Escudero in ordering a re organization instead of an earlier stand of expulsion on erring opposition members shows how weak he is.. it doesn't look good.. who wants to have a leader who is as fickle minded and as soft as how Escudero portrays himself? resumes and credentials even if it's 3 pages worth doesn't mean a thing to me when the person who owns it don't have the balls to stick with his decision.

Escudero: 7 opposition lawmakers face revamp

THE OPPOSITION bloc at the House of Representatives has softened its stand against members who did not support the impeachment bid against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo as it decided on reorganization instead of expulsion among its ranks.
Emerging from a closed-door meeting on Wednesday, Minority Floor Leader Francis Escudero announced that seven members from the minority would be stripped of their posts from various committees as punishment.
But the move is seen as a softening on the part of the minority whose leadership, according to reports, had initially planned to expel some members who did not vote for Arroyo’s impeachment.
“It is the decision of the minority to implement a reorganization, the sole purpose of which is to consolidate and strengthen our ranks after the impeachment vote,” Escudero said in Filipino during a joint press conference with other members of the minority.
“There will be a revamp of their positions in the committee because there is no project that the minority can or cannot give. We can only implement a revamp in the committees to consolidate the minority,” Escudero said.
