Dli man kaayo daku ang performance leap kung gaming. Unless you are having fun with benchmark scores.

Yeah, coz its GPU bound.. spending like 30K for a system overhaul will probably get you less than 20% performance increase in gaming.. spending 25k for a new videocard may give you over 100% increase in gaming performance!

The sandybridge 1155 ---> memory management is definitely a big leap. Productivity sees incremental gains. But gaming wise, not so much (nothing significant really, in fact some actually went down a little which is along the threshold for margin of error).

we'll have to see the LGA 2011 if there's major improvements in gaming but i seriously doubt it. Like what many said, games today are GPU bound. Gone are the days where games were CPU bound. The only difference you can probably see is in RTS games. But even then, only very slight gains... When people ask me about making a gaming PC, i always tell them to be willing to spend more for the GPU rather than the CPU (which is the most common trend which i also held for a while). Today, the GPU is the component that becomes obsolete the fastest compared to any other PC component. That and the optical drive which is slowly disappearing entirely due to the cloud.

Core2 Dual Cores. OK pa man guro ni. Dli pa guro ni mo bottleneck sa mga top tier Video Cards (yes GTX 580 im talking to you) as long as nasa 3.5Ghz above ang clock.
