Of the ten commandments of God, this commandment I believe is the most broken: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.' , which simply means that we should not lie. While some of us are really liars by themselves, most of us think that it's just OK to lie, if it is for common good. This, however makes the commandment of God broken whatever reasons we have.

If we really believe that God created the world and He is the most powerful in this world, then why we sometimes lie? Are we more intelligent than God that we sometimes break this commandment? OK rba na mamakak ta usahay?

Para nako', lying is caused by limitless reasons -- that involves good and bad intentions. Taas kaayo ning sturyaha ba, hehe. "Do not lie" is a very generic command, and as we all know, the basis is always case-to-case. This mere commandment cannot apply to varying situations, especially when lying is the most logically correct thing to do.

Example:
Juan is about to fly off a bridge. You're the negotiator. You know he's about to do a huge mistake.
There's one thing left to do to save his life, tell him: "We'll give you a job," even when you're not in the position to say so (in that nature, you're lying -- you can't give him a job, you're just a negotiator). Then you save his life, he comes down, and you sort things out.

Let's say you came honest at him and said: "To tell you honestly, I cannot give you a job, but ..."

Ok ra nang mamakak basta it will cause death and fatal and eternal harm to a person. Otherwise, sala nanang mamakak.

Imagine a situation nga nangita ang nakaila nimu nga murderer sa imung mama. "Asa imung mama?", ingon ang murderer nga pinakalma og tingog (pero kabaw ka nga murderer xa). It is never good to lie when a friend talks to you.
