challenge: cite at least one politician who plays advocate of the poor, who lives in the slums?

you can very much be advocate of the poor without giving up whatever luxury you have and without spoonfeeding them with your riches.

whoever gives up living in a "house with two lounging rooms" to give room for "five slum dwellings", that is no longer advocacy, that's stupidity.
