    Year to Date % Return: This is the change in value of NAV from the start of the calendar year (actually, from December 31 of last year). It is a period, starting on a date which depends upon the country and the purpose, which is not more than one calendar year ago and ending on the day in question (e.g., today). YTD describes the return so far this year.

    YTD is the return for the whole year. Ang computation ana starts from the very first day of the year up to the current day. For example, sa PhilEquity. Start of 2010, PhilEquity's NAVPS was P12.9075. Right now, PhilEquity's NAVPS is already at P19.6825 or a growth of 50.25%. Kanang 50.25% mao na ang YTD which is the growth for the year.

    Naa pud 3 year and 5 year YTD which is the growth for the past 3 and 5 years.

    so ang tubo sa NAVPS in term of percentage sa usa ka tuig sakto ba?

    Dako Ang Imo and makie states that YTD is the return of your investment of the year if you start invest from January 1 until today that's YTD Return.

    I will explain details of computation in Mutual Funds.

    For example, If you invest Php 10,000.00 at FAMI on January 4, 2010. NAVPS on that day was 2.1113.

    No. of shares = Php 10,00.00/2.1113
    = 4,736.42 no. of shares that you bought.

    And today, NAVPS of FAMI is 3.3731 and to determine your amount of investment, you have to multiply your number of shares to current NAVPS.

    No. of shares = 4,736.42
    x Current NAVPS = 3.3731
    =====================
    Investment s Php 15,976.41.

    Your initial deposit was Php 10,000.00 and your current amount now is Php 15,976.41. You gain 62.59% in your investment.

    if you want to know the difference of NAVPS on Jan. 04, 2010 and Dec. 21, 2010, you must subtract Current NAVPS - Day of the NAVPS started on this year.

    Current NAVPS = 3.3731
    - NAVPS on Jan. 4 = 2.1113
    ========================
    1.2618

    Gain or YTD = 1.2618/2.1113
    = 59.76% ---------This is my computation only.....
