I'll tell you this, though. When "bad" things happen to you, it's really a test of your integrity. When you start to say something you think you believe, life will come down hard on you to test that belief. The test in integrity is to ensure that you do not sway from your purpose (or what you have dedicated your life to). Faith will help you in this aspect.
In reality, there is actually no "good" and "bad" -- everything that happens to you is just part of life. Think of it this way -- good and bad things are as natural and part of life as day and night. Nobody has ever lived on this Earth and not succumbed to "bad" things, so in essence it's an experience.
