I'm guessing this is just a rumor. The ones who started spreading the rumor got pissed by those people who changed their profile pictures to cartoon characters because they're so gullible and illogical.

wa ko nagpailad ani.. hahaha.. wa ko ni-change sa akong profile pic..
wa man pud credible source nganu mag change to cartoon.. mura ra'g na-chismis from one blog, then gi-spread dayun sa facebook.. after na-spread, himuan dayon og storya, Pedophile ra ang naghimo..
btw, even abusive parents/people can easily change their profile pic, to support the cause.. changing to profile pic won't change anything.. IMHO..
