Default why is gasoline cheaper in manila by about 10% as compared to cebu?

i was on my way to the naia-2 airport to travel to cebu when i saw the gasoline prices there and i remembered that it had always been lower by about 10% as compared to gasoline prices in cebu . wanted to take a picture of the gasoline prices there as proof that it is cheaper in manila but couldn't since the taxi was on the move . unleaded gasoline is about P45.00 per liter in manila while it costs P49.00 per liter here in cebu . anybody has an idea why ?

sometime ago, the governor raised this concern . just wondering what happened to that inquiry .

come to think of it, the regional wage board always say that the minimum wage is lower in cebu because the prices of commodities are lower but, i guess, the supermarket prices are just the same and gasoline is actually priced higher

Basically it is because of the Logistics Cost of the fuel in transporting it here in Cebu or to other parts of the country. That is why Gov Gwen's complain did not prosper. Fuel prices are regulated by Dept of Energy. Government agencies always protect these oil companies because these contributes taxes. Luuy gyud ta deri sa Cebu, we really don't know if the price difference is really justifiable.

so how about in Davao.. ms barato ba dd2 compare sa cebu? or in some major cities in mindanao like Cagayan... anyone knows pila ang gas dd2?if this is a transport cost.. then perhaps can someone tell pila ka liters ang sud sa usa ka tanker ships (origin of gas-Cebu)...sea shipping cost+inland transport cost... for example ang sud sa usa ka tanker ky 5k litersX49=PHP245,000-cost=profit...
la lang ta kbalo pila na ang cost para mka justify ta if mka tarungan ba dyd ang price sa gasolina dri sa cebu.. it has been an issue sa dugay nga panahon....

plus 1 peso ra gyud ang presyo sa fuel cebu kay sa manila for several years until nag dula dula sila sa presyo since the past two years na ug nigara na gyud ang oil companies since then kay pwede ra man diay patas-an ug maayo, wala ray ni piyait against nila that causes problems. Another play nila is adding ethanol then another play will be releasing new fuels kunohay - another reason para maka increase ug presyo until maanad na ang mga tao, prices will never go down. What do you think ang next nga mga style nila?

Come to think, the refinery is in Batangas. Batangas to Cebu is shorter compared to Batangas to Cagayan route. But why Cagayan has lower price?? It is becoz of the volume of fuels they transport. Fuels bound to Cagayan is more than the fuels bound to Cebu. Using the same tanker ship capacity (for example), fuels for Cagayan is 8M liters while going to Cebu is only 6M liters. The difference in distance from origin can not overcome the cost per liter between the two individual route. It will come out the logistics cost of fuels in CDO is cheaper than in Cebu.

Pero unsa kaha gyud ang nahitabo nga for several years if not sobra dekada gyud nga P1.00 ra man permi ang difference sa presyo sa Cebu ug sa Manila nga fuel? Nag-usab ang route sa Manila to Cebu? Lagyo na pud kaayo ang difference sa mga presyo sa mga fuel stations dire unlike before mag pareha ra man unta na sila for the same brand within Cebu. Kadtong time nga mag sige ug fluctuate ang presyo (within two to three years ago), didto ni mag sugod ang pagkayagaw sa presyo sa fuel ug gipasagdan nalang pud nga gayagaw na bisan karon. Ang naka nindot pa gyud kay walay improvement sa quality sa fuel, nag deteriorate gyud nuon ang quality sa mga fuel - mahal pa gyud.

let say ang cost of transport sa MNL-CGY is PHP400,000/8M=PHP0.05 so lets say sa cebu ky 300,000/6M=PHP0.05......... not that far sa distance . ms lau mn ang CGY kysa Cebu...

or MNL-CEB cost is 600,000/6M is PHP0.10 then ang MNL-CGY is the same so PHP0.05 ry diperensya db?
so how about davao pila mn ang price dd2? how many nautical miles MNL-CEB/MNL.CGY and MNL-DVO?

shall we consider demand?ms taas ba ang demand sa Cebu compare sa Davao and Cagayan thats why g mahal dyd dri sa cebu? (demand and supply principle)
ms taas ba ang purchasing power sa cebu compare to Luzon and Mindanao area?.........
