i like the shadows here but the shadows caused by the hand is not good, hehe. sometimes it's hard to control the ambient and i don't use any speedlights or strobes it will just ruin the natural mood. Originally Posted by Primal

a really old shoot I did ... the only thing that I could have done here (that I didn't) is meter the background first make it 1.5 stop underexposed than the model. Then hit the model with a strobe.
OR use a ND filter ... then compensate with a strobe.
