    Default medical dilemma

most of us already heard about situation at the hospital where you make decision in behalf of ur family member or your self...

this will connect to legality and morality

so here is the situation and question..

    situation 1:

you are the patient u need to decide whether u will have a Do Not Resuscitate or resuscitate in case of emergency...

what is your basis for your answer

    situation 2:

what if it is your parents/wife/children and u need to decide for them whether to DNR or not...

what is your basis for your answer

    situation 3:

are you willing to donate part of your body when you will die? why or why not?

    Situation 1:

If I am no use to anyone or the world, then I will choose DNR.

    Situation 2:

If my family member or my loved one requests so, I will sign the DNR sheet. I don't want to prolong their agony if there's no other way to save them.

    Situation 3:

    Yes, of course.

Since im working as ICU nurse, situations like this i come across everyday ,almost!

lisod jud i.decide mga ing.ani , but the point of the DNR is , atleast not cause more pain , especially if the patient is diagnosed with a terminal illness, like end stage cancer, nor been on a coma and their is the greater risk for medical management than the benefit ... that is medically ethical and rightheous for the family..( practically pod kay over ka mahal mga medical procedures karon)

.. and Besides DNR is not like a moral issue, you may some sort feel some guilt , but is more of , being rational with the actions and more like an advance directive...

    scenario 1:
habang may buhay. i will not use DNR

    scenario 2:
my parents gave specific instructions. DNR daw. so that is their wish, i shall respect it.

    scenario 3:
yes, if there are salvageable organs.

situation 1: if i have a terminal illness, give me a damn gun and i'll do it myself...

situation 2: if they have no terminal illness, i-baligya tanan to save a life... otherwise, it will have to be talked with another family member for a final decision...

situation 3: i haven't taken cared of my body...got a lot of illnesses and issues...if they can find one that is useful, by all means, yes....
