Tracing family roots, where do we start?

i am interested in knowing my ancestry, i started by asking my elders but they can only go back sa ako mga great grandparents. beyond that wala nay data.

ask for names sa imong great grandparents from you parents... then try to go sa Civil Registrar office ask ug details like birth cert nila...then naa man sa birth cert ang names sa imong great great grandparents..so ask na sad ka for birth cert sa imong great great grandparents... so on and so forth...

It is costly jud kay tag-50 pesos each birth cert...then depende asa nga CR office..daghan man kaayo taw ang uban.

we had a project like this when i was in college what i did i ask my grandparents and our relatives like the cousins of my lola and lola... na about intawn ko sa lola pa sa akong lola...

kung ibase lang sad sa akong ancestry map.. spanish blood jud mi, or even kitah mga pinoy spanish blood jud tah.. try to look at the surnames most of the filipino, halus mga spanyol.. sa aq na trace q na, sa side sa aqng papa.. PEDOLIN aqng apilyedo, from surigao. but actually ang apilyedo sa aqng mga forefathers is TRINIDAD.. spanish siya nga nagsakay sa barko nga TRINIDAD. my forefather changed his name into pedolin during the japanese colony here in the philipines ky patyon man ang mga taw nga naay apilyedo nga spanish sa ilang area.. so mao to.. until today Pedolin ang gida sa akong mga lolo's.. but trinidad blood jud mi.. mao na based sa among research.. sounds interesting, try nyo!..
