taking lives for the purpose of improving ones own or that of others is acceptable..
the ends justify the means.. if your at the wrong end of the barrel.. sorry na lang brad..

I don't consider mercy killing an honorable act... it's an act of mercy, there's no honor in killing. And mercy killing is not an exception. As what you described, continuous pain, suffering and agony with an certain individual is an absence of god/God? Well got news for you.. we see/heard lots of pain/suffering/agony in this world so therefore there's no God, right? leave Him be.. don't even go there. If you can't accept suffering and pain in this life maybe you're off somewhere else. Unfortunately those are part of our lives bro..either small pain or great pain as long as buhi pa ta naa jud na.
Mercy Killing or euthanasia is generally considered to be a criminal homicide and yes it's legal to some few countries, but only to a voluntary euthanasia but generally it remains as a criminal homicide.

and taking lives for the purpose of improving ones own or that of others is acceptable.. i guess you should rephrase this. taking someone's life or lives like you mentioned is NOT acceptable just to improve ones own life.

I think as mere humans we are in no position to judge whether it is acceptable to kill another human being or not. But lisod man sad gud kaau if badlongon jud ang tao.

Whether euthanasia is murder, assisted suicide, or mercy killing, I believe euthanasia should be the decision and belief of individuals rather than the government. And an individual has the first and final decision for their own life.

I think depende man cguro ni..being on the medical side, we give the option to have a DNR (do not resuscitate) because there's no reason to prolong a person's agony. Take for example a px with cancer which spread to the other parts of the body, you know that the survival of that px is slim to none. Or a 90year old patient who can barely walk/function without any assistance. We know that their quality of life is not as good so we opt to give that option to the family. It all boils down to the QUALITY OF LIFE. We, the medical community do not take these things lightly. Euthanasia has its benifits. But, like all other things in this world, these things has to be in writing aron walay kiha

if another person intervenes using machines to continue/prolong your life, ma inutil o dili, is it the will of God o the will of man? God wants it to end but man interferes by using machines and medicines...ana?
Is it God's plan to put His beloved creatures(patient and relatives) in suffering and agony?
Ok ra tingali ang "don't revive" pero kanang tuyo-on ug patay by means of medicine or machine lahi na siguro na.

I'm in favor because I abhor cruelty and to prolong the life of a person in a terminal condition who is in terrible pain is just wrong. Families here face huge medical expense extending the life of loved ones by artificial means because of the guilt heaped upon them by the Church and for what?... The person suffers a while longer, but still dies.

We all will die at some point, it is important to accept this truth and to allow the aged to pass with dignity.

Some people think that euthanasia shouldn't be allowed, even if it was morally/ethically right, because it could be abused and used as a cover for murder.
