Default Discrimination on Filipino Nurses in US

    Istoryans,

Everyone knows that USA is not out of the woods yet regarding this severe recession ever...all professional fields are affected already.

However, one would think the medical field will always be stable since it is inevitable for one not to get sick. by then people in this field will be spared from being affected with the economic status.

But take time to read this news from Balitang America regarding this certain issue and try to decipher if it is really the status of the economy that is dictating on the mgt. decision not to hire filipino nurses anymore in their hospital.

    Looooooooool !!!

I wonder what's wrong about not hiring someone who don't have a great communication skills?? Hmmm ... Filipinos are over-boasting themselves . I know lots of Filipino claims themselves as "they're best in the world" .. Pffffttt !! Duh, best in what?? Loooolss..

We are not .. Soo obvious!!!

A lot of "professionals" here speaking broken English and only in consonants (fresh off the boat) . It's funny though that they always think they have the best English skillset in Asia compared to other countries that English is not their first language ..

Why don't they just accept the fact that they don't want FILIPINOS because they have a poor English skills ?? Like from the song by Eraserheads, "Masakit man isipin, kailangang tanggapin" ..

They should start taking full-out ESL classes, and stop watching stupid shows on TFC ..

ESL classes in the country are handled by Filipino teachers, seldom do they have native speakers.

YUp, it's better that they should hire english teachers.
They are also very well equipped to assist the doctors and tending the patients.
Or maybe, they should have hospital staffs that possess comprehensive skills.

I think, the problem is really the competition, the economy of the US is still ailing a lot of them is still jobless. How would a nurse pass the board exams and the pre-qualifying exams to work as a nurse in the US if she/he does not have the necessary english language knowledge.

we should hire a person with good english.. It's a universal language. Any country can possibly understand english even not that perfectly. with Good English and great service.. We Filipinos can top!
