Default PLuS OnE: a NeW TRenD in ReLaTionShiPs?

I had an interesting talk with my sisters this morning when we were gushing about past relationships and how it has evolved into different lingos.

Before, there was MU (mutual understanding), Kawiw (iring-iring sa online), FWB (friends with benefits), FUBU (F buddy or someone you have casual *** with) and now the trend in Manila is what they call, PLUS ONE.

It's the thing for a couple to go out -- not ON A DATE -- but just "hanging out" with no labels/commitments. It's something carefree and just laid-back. As long as you both are single and know what you guys are into. So no one should make demands or be a cry-baby about it.

Maybe you have tried this... You have a guy friend who's not one of your barkada nor someone you're eyeing as a prospect in a romantic sense. But if you need to go out and just hang out, you call him, vice versa. You go out with them because they're fun to be with and don't read too much into the thought that's it's a date... Lastly, plus ones don't necessarily do hanky panky after the party. So it's all about companionship.

So what's your take on this? Are you into this thing? Care to share?

Dats the term of their companion...

Example, if u are invited to a party, then you'd ask,

"May I bring my plus one?"

I think I've seen this in the movies... lisod pod ko define Kay Dili man gud trend dre sa ato, sa Manila daw uso na... Ka feel ka dha sol?

Sounds complicated. I have friends I go out with, friends so close even if we slept in the same bed together, we know nothing is going to happen beyond sleeping and snoring. I can call one of them in the opposite *** just to hang out. The thing is they're part of my barkada, which does not fit the description of Plus One.

On the other hand I have friends that are not part of my barkada. I call them or they call me just to hang out, but at least one of us is romantically interested in the other. Again, it does not fit the description of Plus One.

I conclude that Plus Ones are complicated and hard to find. If you want to hang out, just call one of your barkadas. Because if you call the one that you are romantically interested in or vice versa, it's dangerous.
