Don't buy into that this place is too overpopulated! That's BS propaganda to get you to accept lower quality services, lower your expectations from your leaders, and to sacrifice what you have for the better of the community when the leadership is the one with all the resources and should be doing that.
There is nothing misleading about the topic as it discusses overpopulation in Cities like Manila.. not the entire world.

Corruption is indeed a factor in our country being where it is today. But I believe it is not the only factor. When you see rich families having 1-2 children and poor families having 8... something is definitely wrong with society and solving corruption alone won't completely solve our problems.

If you look at the financial data, income per capita and average number of children per family, even a country with zero corruption will be hard pressed to keep up with the population growth and provide adequate healthcare, education and employment for all. Increasing the quality of life of each Filipino requires narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor ... how can this be done if there is such a huge disparity in children per family among different social classes.?

If we try to divide the whole land area of the Philippines with its total population, i bet many cities will be decongested... What we really have is a Congestion problem, not really over population per se.... People will tend to flock at developed cities, exceeding that city's ability to provide jobs, benefits and etc.... thereby making it overpopulated...i bet there are some cities, towns or provinces that have few inhabitants.... Development is really the problem here, not Population.... Population is a potential resource for the country, the government should try to maintain a high quality citizenry.... As i have observed, this country is a reactive country...We only react to situations.... Simple math should have been enought to foresee this growth in population... Programs needed to have high quality population should have started decades ago.... there should be more acceptable job opportunities outside city centers.... Curbing Population growth is only a band aid solution....it is shallow on its own and futile if there are no other programs to supplement a higher goal, Quality Population.... The country should aim for Quality Population and not merely reducing burdens... When we have more Quality Population, the country will benefit from their taxes.... I say, the country should invest on its people and not try to reduce its people... The effects of cutting population will not be felt ASAP, i suggest the country should be aggressive in job creation...

Why are we overanalyzing this? The problem is simple, and so is the solution. To define the problem, go outside and take a walk and if you have a brain and two eyes you will see overpopulation. To solve this problem, you cut population growth. See? It's simple. In other countries, they will see the problem, and work on solving it immediately. In our country, we try to call the problem something else or rationalize it and then do nothing. That is why other countries are rich, and we are poor. We have too many geniuses who want to turn something simple into something complicated so they can debate it and show how smart they are.

In the meantime other countries are laughing at us and wondering why a country with so many argumentative and deluded geniuses is in such a sorry state.

Have you traveled to other parts of the country? You can see that only cities have this problems.... our cities have overpopulation problem, but other provinces would show you otherwise... What you can see in your city is not the same with other places EVEN IF you use the same eyes and brain.... What if you have 2 rooms, 1 full with amenities while the other one is dull... Your 10 friends would surely want to stay on the room with lots of amenities, right? But what if that room can only accommodate 10 people? What would you do? The logical way would be to transfer some amenities to the other room so that your other friends may be willing to also transfer.... thats the problem with this country... Our country has 7,000+ rooms with only less than 20 filled with amenities... Fill the other rooms with amenities and some people will surely transfer else where... Relocation is faster than Cutting Population.... Besides, our country might need a large pool of Quality Citizens in the future, babies don't mature within 10 years raba...

this view is too simplistic, how about if the other rooms can't sustain the amenities? so how?
example is some islands we have are too typhoon-ravaged and disaster-risk for investors to consider.

    Easy for you to say.

Technically dli man overpopulated ang Philippines if basehan tong number of people/km of land, or something ingon ana nga equation. But wala'y mopuyo sa bukid, and instead naa na sila tanan sa cities.
