First off, there's no overpopulation crisis in the world. That statement is highly misleading. The only problem stems from corruption & waste. If the leadership wasn't so corrupt & wasteful Philippines & all the other nations in the world would have everything they needed, but of course leadership looks out for number one, numero uno, themselves instead of the community & everyone else suffers because of it. Don't buy into that this place is too overpopulated! That's BS propaganda to get you to accept lower quality services, lower your expectations from your leaders, and to sacrifice what you have for the better of the community when the leadership is the one with all the resources and should be doing that.
There is nothing misleading about the topic as it discusses overpopulation in Cities like Manila.. not the entire world.
Corruption is indeed a factor in our country being where it is today. But I believe it is not the only factor. When you see rich families having 1-2 children and poor families having 8... something is definitely wrong with society and solving corruption alone won't completely solve our problems.
If you look at the financial data, income per capita and average number of children per family, even a country with zero corruption will be hard pressed to keep up with the population growth and provide adequate healthcare, education and employment for all. Increasing the quality of life of each Filipino requires narrowing the gap between the rich and the poor ... how can this be done if there is such a huge disparity in children per family among different social classes.?
