This is based on Andz post regarding videcard rankings. This is the overall performance ranking. the 4870 1gb just ranked a bit faster than the 5770.
Your personal experience is highly subjective. So more reliable performance review would come from reviews such as these.
The 5770 may have more horsepower but its 128bit interface is a bit of a let down honestly. I believe videocards should have at least 256bit memory interface anything below that and it can severely bottleneck a videocard performance. I dont like crippled videocards.
