i admire people who give credit to the unseen heroism of our men in uniform... our Air Force may not be as popular in terms of Aircrafts but they still serve our country... let us all participate in helping our fellow soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines in serving our country. and let us make this a better place to live in... ang ato Air Force kay kinhanglan jud ug RADAR mao jud na ako first na concern before sa mga eroplano...

Yes, sad to say we only have RADARs used by the PAG ASA for the weather forecast and in the A.T.O for the air traffic operations. but RADAR solely used for military purposes especially in the Air Force? nah, so far we have none...

yes #1 ang military but they are focused on the other aspects as of now... other departments as of now na dili mag gamit ug RADAR. pero sa acquisition listing i hope naa na sa line up kay so far sa AFP modernization program naa man Phases sila gisunod. sa Phase 3 na musulod ang updated equipments.

    I know this is late...

    Aquino stops helicopter deals

MANILA - PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino has blocked the purchase of nine military helicopters worth nearly US$93 million (S$122 million) after allegations of corruption, military spokesmen said on Tuesday.

The Filipino navy and air force both rejected the allegations of collusion to favour a particular supplier of the seven air force attack helicopters and two navy helicopters saying the correct process had been followed.

However the military deferred to Aquino's decision to review the contracts, according to navy Lieutenant-Colonel Edgard Arevalo and air force Lt Col Miguel Ernesto Ocol.

'It's not possible to rig that (process) to cater to anybody's requirement,' Lt Ocol insisted.

He said the specifications for the 3.2 billion pesos (S$96 million) air force contract, which was awarded to Polish firm PZL Swidnik on September 9, were based on Philippine military flight requirements.

'When you come up with that circular of requirements you look at it based on doctrine and based on actual operational use,' Lt Ocol told reporters. -- AFP

sad to hear this...i hope they can resolve this matter as early as possible... or perhaps they would go for a RADAR first...

let's accept it. the philippines practically has no air defense system. the only consolation is foreign invasion is quite unlikely anyway. so, hey, it's bad but not really that bad.
