tungod mn guru na sa sodium content sir? dpat washed man ang cocopeat then mixed with perlite ma neutralized ang salt then ma enhance ang ph.. pero para sure ayaw nlng pud gmet ug cocopeat hehehe..

depende man gud sa klase pud sa VFT, hehe kai akung pitcher plant sauna nabuhi rmn pud to sa cocopeat

I use a mixture of perlite + sphagnum moss + a little coco peat and grated bark of old trees (I collected after raining para ma sterilize). ok man kaayo for me and my plants looks healthy.

The reason why I have coco peat is because I couldn't find the perlite and moss before and I had to repot my carnivorous plants when I got it. nag panic gamay kay wa nako na-andam, but all is good. My pitcher plants are "pitchering" ang mg VFTs are growing new traps.

Sakto si moy1moy1...the reason why cocopeat might not work for some VFTs is because of the source, basin duol sa dagat gikan ang cocopea thats why naay gamay salt content.

Just don't buy the coco peat purely intended to be a "potting mix" because some manufacturers mix it with other organic materials, compost, manure and fertilizers-- para pang sprout ug seeds. That's NOT the coco peat for your Venus Fly traps.

The other day I bought coco peat form Piper's pet shop.. repacked in tiny plastics that cost P15 each. For sure wala to sagol organic fertilizers etc because its intended to be the substrate for tarantula/scorpion enclosures.

Mao nga if naa koy makit an nga peat moss kana gyud akong gamiton, as i've said sa previous nga post nakakita nko ug perlite anha sa SM ground floor kanang mga namaligya ug tanom. ang naa daw nila kay "coco quire" (not sure sa spelling sa "quire") and i didn't know if that is the same as coco peat.

I've tried using Philippine moss kanang baratohon lang para orchids sa ako VFT with coco husk and a little bit of cocopeat on the top. Ako lang gi hugasan pag ayo ang cocopeat, Moss and coco husk ug water rains. Then soak it for about 4 days while draining some water and fill-in again every 2 days. However, some VFT or CP growers says that Philippine moss has lot of phatogen done sphagnum moss but so far my VFT is currently smiling. Lastly, you may re-pot your potting mix every year if you are using cocopeat. Btw, I've bought my cocopeat on a 50 pesos per kilo on istorya. Daghan nakaayo ang 1 kilo. happy growing.
