MANILA, Philippines - One of President Benigno Aquino's critics in the Senate gave him high marks for his first 100 days in office, while taking a swipe at the shortcomings of the people working for him.

Sen. Joker Arroyo, a member of the minority group, praised Mr. Aquino for being able to maintain the people's confidence in him despite the early setbacks in his administration, like the failed handling of the August 23 hostage crisis in Manila.

"That is the test of leadership, when you're able to maintain the faith of the people in you," Arroyo told reporters.

He said this is remarkable considering the lackluster performance of some officials of the Aquino administration.

Without naming names, he criticized the people closest to President Aquino as his biggest burden.

"His ministers have not done any good. They're inadequate and their performance is short of desirable," said Arroyo, who was the executive secretary of the late former President Corazon Aquino, Mr. Aquino's mother.
Arroyo previously said that the Aquino administration was being run like a student council.

Arroyo also cited the President's assumption of full responsibility for the botched hostage rescue, a move that, he said, did not cause Mr. Aquino any damage and was even welcomed by the public.

Arroyo, however, refused to give the President any specific grade or rating.
"No matter how we rate him, the fact is, the public has confidence in him," he said. "How can we go against that?"

that is a very straightforward answer from one of P-Noy's critic in the senate.

P-Noy padayon lang sa mga maayo na imo ginabuhat..

    unsa man imu rating sis?

his stance for responsible parenthood, including the controversial RH bill despite the church strong opposition

his successful trip in the States, that yield $2.8 billion in investments and the $434 million from the Millenium Challenge Corporation. That shows a lot on the US confidence in our country and P-Noy's leadership. Plus his travel expenses was less expensive.

his handling with the hostage crisis, sure not perfect, but he took the responsibilities that goes with being the leader. The IIRC report was appreciated by the Chinese government as reported. It showed the government's sincerity and seriousness in handling the manner

his no wang-wang policy, is a good start.

his formation of the Truth Commission headed by former SC Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr. to investigate PGMA and his allies.

his also more available and accessible to the media, which I like the best.
    ----------

About the Jueteng scandal, I like the fact that the Usec and Sec of DILG, and PNP Chief all went to the senate to share their side and what actions they are doing. No order whatsoever to tell them not to go.

    Over-all, I'll give P-Noy an 8 out of 10.

The Philippines is perceived as Asia's most corrupt economy, according to a poll by Political and Economic Risk Consultancy Ltd
because pud na sa red tape , lisod gyud maginvest ang mga foreign companies cause restricted ang foreign investment.

Yeah.. But what do you see in lately in the news.. PNoy panay pasaring kay GMA.. from his campaign period to his SONA and his 100 days report.

He's already a president but still acting like a sore winner. We need solutions not popularity ratings and PR stunts.
