Well it depends on what your definition of a hero is. Remember that today's heroes are everyday people who, in their own small ways, can change the world. They're our teachers, firemen, doctors, nurses, even students.

What Miss Laurel has is heart. The true test of a person's strength is how he, or in this case she, rises to master that challenge once it arrives. For Laurel, it was putting on a brave face despite losing her legs. It was refusing to give up on her career, her life. That act alone has touched people's lives. As to how many have been changed for the better, we don't know.

So you tell me, is it unfair to call Raissa Laurel, a woman who showed bravery in the face of tragedy, a hero?

This is an example of bravest of the brave even though she’s just a girl. For some, they are all very proud of her. For me, she helps us also to keep fighting and gives us hope in our own battles. Our battlegrounds are all the same, filled with pain, suffering, death, and the reason we keep fighting is the hope of tomorrow. And as we all know...the end for all of us will be death. If not from bombs, car accident, cancer, then from something else. I hope that when my time comes, I'll be ready also to face eternity.

i dont disagree with u my friend... but lemme ask u this, if it weren't for the media hype, would u still consider her a hero?? of course not, why? because u wudnt have known about her. is it unfair to call her a hero? YES AND NO.... its unfair becoz she's getting all this attention whereas the true heroes of our generation... the nurses, the teachers, the doctors, the firemen... are taken for granted... they are the true heroes my friend...and they shud get all the credit... wudnt u think??
