Kung pa pilion mo between the two lenses:

1. NIKKOR 70-300mm f/4-5.6G

2. Sigma 18-200mm/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM

Agree ko ni teeemoy. Sigma 18-200mm/3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM mas maayo. Gamay lang lihok basta mid/hi telephoto imong gamiton kay sensitive na kaayo. Unless if mugamit ka og tripod ug grabe ka-steady imong kamot, then that won't be too much of a problem. Also the Sigma has a very usable range nga pang-all-in-one lens na if you want to carry light during photoshoots or travels.

nikkor is better... although walay VR, nice ni cya uf IQ.... all you need is to have a Shutter Speed atleast 1/320... solve!

i had that Sigma lens before... it's heavy ang IQ is not that great...

ahhh ok. sakto bitaw. kay reklamo man toh c brian pud nga ang sigma nga 28-300 sa canon kay soft na daw kaayo at 300mm. so i can see why basin better ang 70-300 sa nikkor despite the lack of VR.

anyway, i have a canon 55-250 f/4-5.6 IS and i find it to be practically useless. Murag magamit ra ni ug daylight sporting events, and close up portraits. Pero if lowlight na gani, useless. Bati-an jud ko sa f4-5.6.

So my suggestion is either get a Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR II, or the tamron 28-75 f/2.8...you'll be spending a bit more, pero in the end, it's gonna be worth it.

Sorry for being a noob... what does OS HSM means? what is VR?

Depende man na unsa imo gusto shootan. 18-200 is a walk-around lens while the 70-300 is a telephoto obviously. 70-300 will own the 18-200 on the telephoto end any day.

it depends on what you want to achieve, gamit ka ug IS kung below imong shutter speed sa imong focal length...for example 300 imong focal length then 1/250 or 1/125 imong shutter speed, gamit naka ug IS/VR/OS/VC ana.

18-200mm or 70-300mm?
Ang pangutana, unsa man gyud ang imong gusto nga mahitabo? Do you require nga from a far distance ka most of the time when you shoot or gusto lang ka ug pang all around nga lens?

Ikaw ra ang makatubag which range ang imong angay kuhaon.
Kung brand ang istoryahan, get a Nikon kay nindot man ug optical quality (most of the time specially sa mga bag-ong release nga lenses - bisan ang pang consumer class pa-very nice quality) and it will be nice to have that VR feature on the lens when you can afford. Naa naman 70-300mm nga VR na, nindot kaayo ug kuha than the one without the VR.
naa pud Nikon 18-200mm VR II as your another option kung gusto ka taas ug range ug kapoyan na mag sige ug ilis ug lens.

Kung naa na kay 18-55++ nga lens, an updated design of the 70-300 (with VR) will be a good choice. Again, di gyud ka masayop ug invest on a Nikon lens. However, kung gusto ka mo try ug laing brand, imoha pud nang option. Ang importante comfortable ka sa imong gipanggamit nga tools ug di ra sya makabalda sa imong gusto nga photographs nga mahimo.
