at least for now PNoy is consistent with transparency.
Because of his "transparency" (over transparency) he blurted out a "subjective" statement that he received an "insulting" letter from HK, which HK did not or they denied was insulting. Speaking your points subjectively will only show you misinterpreted the information, in this case the letter from HK. He should just have kept it to himself that the letter was somewhat insulting rather than share it with the media that he finds the letter insulting, this is a huge stunt for a President to make. That's the last thing you do in PR, airing your subjective thoughts that when denied by the other party will only lead you to being a close-minded entity.

For information, the letter supposedly contained HK stating the things that should have been done during the hostage crisis. Some might find it insulting, like the President, while some would find this as educating or sort of guidelines, but again he should have kept his thoughts to himself because with his statement it seem that he is attacking HK for calling it as an "insulting" letter.

Noynoy should find another PR staff if this was his PR's fault. But he is a big man now, he could think for himself, so he should already know what's wrong for him and what's right without the help of his PR staff.

    ADD:
That's what I like about Gloria, though she never made any public announcements (except for the "I am sorry), she only conveys it to her spokespersons. If you noticed she seldom talks on camera, that's because she doesn't want to air out unnecessary thoughts like Noynoy does. You might think it's coward but that's part of PR, you maintain your image to the people of being an objective type of person while conveying the right things you want them to know through your spokespersons. That's her strategy. You might think it's unfair, but IMO, it's the right thing to do. In short, what GMA does pertaining to PR is the lesser evil than with Noynoy's PR style. For me, scripted is better than picking up thoughts on the spot because you might pick-up thoughts that are not supposed to be shared, especially when you're infront of the media.

come on, the Office of the President is a public office and the president is not a commodity. so your Marketing 101's PR blah blah doesn't really apply here.
why do you speak like you have read the HK letter yourself? PNoy only said he finds the letter insulting, he did not even elaborate what was the contents of the letter.
well, if PNoy's PR and honesty will cost him his presidency so be it. isn't it what you guys are praying for?
seems that you are learning the way of a traditional politician.

pagkatactless na lang jud sa atong presidente. he should fire all of his PR advisers and just find ONE capable person. he's not doing any favors to his image and to this country.

dli sab tingali maayo nga usa na lang ibilin kay asa na lang sya mangayo og 2nd opinion.

Is it Marketing PR? Am I talking about Marketing here? It's public relations, how you connect with the public, especially predicting consequences. Even at it's level it looks like simple logic and critical thinking for the President. "Keep your negative personal insights to yourself when speaking with the public and addressing it to your diplomates".

Why do I speak like I read the letter? You have watched the harapan right? Or read news articles?

    News article
"We were told in very minute detail what we were supposed to do," Aquino said in Manila. He declined to say who signed the letter. "We are not responding to the official letter from the Hong Kong government which, in my view, is insulting."
PNoy only said he finds the letter insulting
That is the point there, this is not about what the letter contains but his tactless remark about the letter, he is saying that HK is insulting him.

It's his own opinion, but his opinion is subjective he THINKS it is insulting. Will you, in the right mind and looking for this situation between your government and HK to be cooled down, say that you find their letter to you insulting? It's tactless. The whole harapan was a good idea, yes, but it should have been done at the right time (after IIRC investigations) and answering only questions that are being asked, not blurting out things that are unnecessary.

isn't it what you guys are praying for?
It will cost him. But do you think we're happy or praying for it? It will really cost him his presidency, but what else can we do but to wait for 6yrs before he steps down. Are we gonna be happy if he keeps up what he is doing for 6YEARS?? So help us God! I, myself, pray he stop his stupidity because I can't live with that for 6yrs, we're doing this so that he learns from it. Critics exist to slap his mistakes on his face if all else fails.

I'm open for change, but if this is the kind of change I'm gonna live with for 6yrs, even at it's onset it's already chaotic, then no thanks. "FIRST IMPRESSIONS, LASTS"
