anime is just like cartoons. you will never be too old to watch it. you still enjoy it.

well,same as me..eheh..kinda look at anime as my life..how i wish to have a life as an anime
Well, since it has been pretty much established that there is nothing wrong with watching anime on your twenties, I guess it would be appropriate to discuss age as a factor in watching anime.
I could still see myself enjoying anime on my thirties, even on my forties. I’d probably spend quality time with my son watching anime. Classics like Highschool of the dead, Kiss x Sis, Kanokon, To LOVE-Ru, Girls Bravo, Aki-Sora, Juuden-Chan. Sekirei, and Omamori Himari will be on our playlist during weekends. Yup, yup, my son would grow up into a fine man with my guidance.
However, there is actually something wrong with watching anime on your thirties, or even on your late twenties. It is when you actually have a decent job, live in a financially sound life… yet you still watch anime through rips you have downloaded/ unofficial streams on the internet.
What?
Come on! You claim to ‘love’ anime yet you have not spent a single dime that goes to the creator’s pocket. Something is really wrong there. Sure, today, at this age, we can say that it is impossible for us to do so since factors such as availability and our own financial status hinder us from doing the purchase. But when we reach that age and status when we will be capable of purchasing, but still choose not to, even though you are fully enjoying it, you are a fag.
That’s not say we should be buying every title, we could still use the internet as a means of filtering out the crap that they will eventually feed us. But we should at least pay for the titles that we enjoyed.
Indeed, it does feel good to give back to the industry, whether in the form of buying DVDs, figures, manga, etc..
And i do agree on using the internet as a filter. Watched SZS and read the manga online, didn't stop me from buying three volumes of the manga and the official anime fanbook. I skipped the DVDs though.. >_> Can't afford it atm.
Anyways, my child would grow up watching Studio Ghibli movies, Doraemon, those old mecha series, some kiddie shounen/shoujo ones, and some others. For someone who grew up watching anime, i can't help but pass it on.. ;__;
haha..daghan nako mga ka club!!haha..dey just wont stop man gud..kay guwang na daw ko
Good purchase. Your decision to buy those items won’t put you in despair.![]()
Spoiler!
And, yeah, same here.. there were a few times that I considered buying R1 DVDs of recent titles, but did not since it was unpractical. Though R1 DVDs of recent titles are priced reasonably, they are still expensive for us. R2J DVDs, on the other hand, is another story; these things have ridiculous price.
Reading back on my rant.. errr, I mean post, I may have sounded like a hypocrital idiot. The only R1 DVDs I technically own are mostly obscure, old, and sometimes crappy, 2-episode OVAs that were sold at bargain bins. The company which holds the license of most of these titles, ADV Films, has long been dead. So the idea of me indirectly giving back to the industry did not really apply here. However, I do plan on repaying this debt – the debt of enjoying some of the greatest titles.
Anyway, my point is, as we mature as a person, the means in which we enjoy our favorite anime should also change. It should, somehow, be inclined into a much more ‘mature’ way.
what do you mean? People are ridiculing you just because you are enjoying anime? just ignore them. As everyone has said, it's perfectly normal. As long as you are not sleeping with a dakimakura in a shared room, you're just fine.
