like one time i have a friend who's got a drug addict brother. of course sending the person into rehab is a good move, makatabang sa ila but in the drug addicts' end, it's like he's being sent to the jail ang feeling. so he ended up hating his sister.
Yeah, resistance is common. Of course, until the addict begins to accept that he needs help, mu resist jud na cya. The thing is, the addict is not in the right frame of mind to decide for himself while he is drugged and obsessed with drugs. Needless to say, at that point, the addict needs somebody to decide for his good, i.e. family insisting on rehab. Addiction, btw, is not an individual problem. Some of you may have heard about co-dependency. Sometimes, the addiction exists because the dynamics of his environment/family allows/tolerates the addiction, sometimes without the family being aware of such.

BTW, the licensure law for Psychologists and Psychometricians have been passed, so it's time na gyud that we work toward getting that license kay i-regulate na ang practice.

There is also already a law regulating the practice of Guidance & Counseling. I am working towards completing my requirements for the said licensure.

These are two laws that we need to give attention too should we consider practicing counseling or psychotherapy(and even psychological testing)

Di kau ko updated about this licensure matters, but I've heard about this a couple of years ago..I think it would be nice jd kun naa ni para masaligan pd ta sa uban usahay who thinks lowly of this field of study (without knowing unsa ni ka-importante in general) Having a license is the best way to tell these people that we know what we are doing..hehehe

Btaw, the free service is still on..I'm not practicing professionally, but I'm all ears out to anyone who needs someone to listen or talk with..PM lng mo..
