yes you can...

just purchase an domain name and point the using the (A) address and to your IP.

off course you need a local host and a static IP

You can even host a site on a Dynamic IP Address.

Here's how:

1. Register a Free Account at dnsexit.com

2. Once done, enter the dnsexit.com nameservers in the domain control panel of your domain.
Here are their Nameservers: ns1.dnsexit.com, ns2.dnsexit.com, ns3.dnsexit.com, ns4.dnsexit.com

3. Then, add the domain at dnsexit.com

4. Download an IP update tool from dnsexit.com (free). This will update the IP everytime the IP of the internet connection changed.


How does it work?

This is assuming your domain is registered at GoDaddy.com.

The requests to access the website goes first to Godaddy. Godaddy will then send the request to dnsexit.com (because you entered their dns servers in the control panel of godaddy). dnsexit.com will then forward to the IP of your computer (which gets updated automatically via the free ip update tool).


So, that's it basically, beside open the ports in the firewall and forward in the router.
