and its better na mag spend gyud ang government on renewable energy resources kay on the long term masnindot sya...

dili tingali tinuod ang climate change na gisulti ni al gore pero kini tinuod maslisod na katimaho sa mga smell sa mga flowers karon...

Naa poy dakong rason ang mga environmentalist one of such is the climate change, pero mao pud lagi wala pa gyuy reliable and economically sound nga alternative source to replace fossil fuel generated power. Kung nuclear pud, delikado ta sa mealtdown ana labi na kung mag-duka2x ang operator sa planta.

I think the government could afford to do so. how many millions or billions have been spent for some USELESS projects here in CEBU? one clear example is the CICC and others pa jud. it was almost a billion pesos worth of our income taxes. they can build environment-friendly power resources once ky its solar or wind once and maintain nalng. our current power providers can give like 75% and 25% are the environment-friendly power. until it can go up to a full scale enregy provider. if we don't start now then WHEN? if we always use MONEY as our main concern then DILI JUD TA MKA KITA UG LAIN ALTERNATIVE WAYS! I'm sure gwen will not focus on that, labi na ron nga last term na niya so she will focus on other projects where dali ra mahimo para dali ra mka kwarta. So don't blame the environmentalist ky SOMEDAY SOMEHOW we will thank them for leaving our children and future children some clean environment like clean water and air to live for. TRY TO THINK SAD FOR THE FUTURE AND NOT JUST WHAT IS TODAY!

What would you suggest?

a nuclear plant ABOVE ground. why spend so much on putting it underground. but kinahanglan lang gyud na medyo wa nagtungtung sa fault line like what happened sa bataan nuclear power plant.

our government could not afford to put up alternative sources of energy. the private sector should also help. maybe another BOT project. but then... the efficiency of the power generation would make the power generated more expensive than the current rates. so umangal na pud ang mga consumers.

hahay! i dont know the solution for this.

nuclear power plant nga mu supply sa whole visayas region... but sad to say dili pwede ibutang sa cebu or sa bohol kay dili suitable ang limestone as foundation.. (daghan holes)..

di man daw delikado ang meltdown.. compared sa chernobyl hightech na kaau nuclear power plants run.. (chernobyl was substandard)..

just make sure kana ato power plant dili murag MADE IN CHINA. hehehehehe

Other than meltdowns, nuclear power plants built on solid ground are vulnerable to terror attacks or invasions. Securing/protecting such plants (not to mentioned preventing radiation leaking into the air) are a must.

Perhaps it's time to see how the French handle nuclear power in their turf. That nation has a very strong defense mechanism and one of the most powerful military forces in the world.
