We are so lucky here we have these quality stage shows at least 3 times every month. Thanks to SU Cultural Affairs Committee they bring these kinds of shows for us and that we don't have to go to the metropolis anymore.. And more shows are to come... Dumaguete is definitely the cultural center of the south..

SU physician board exam passing rate 100%

All the seven graduates of the medical college of Silliman University passed the recent board examinations for physicians, SU president Dr. Ben Malayang III said yesterday.

The now doctors are Philmed Salindo, Georgita Partosa, Tanya Ramas Uypitching, Pearl Vidal, Sheena Saycon, Julie Cabristante, Kristine Espancho.

Four of them are scholars of the provincial government – Salindo, Partosa, Saycon and Cabristante.

SU School of Medicine was fully recognized last year with Dr. Jonathan Amante as its first dean.

Malayang said the school of medicine had achieved a very remarkable first-time batch passing rate of 100 percent and he attributed this to the strong cadre of medical professionals.

Amante said the result of the board examinations is not a one-time thing, but required much preparation.

As early as their fourth year in medical education, the students already did a one-year review integrated into their clinical responsibilities.

Amante also said that in their fourth year curriculum, they are integrating the three important aspects of a physician, namely, professionalism in medicine, spirituality in medicine and reproductive health, making Silliman University as one of the few medical schools in the country where spiritual preparations as part of the total professional preparation of the student.

The medical school started with 11 students. It has also graduated two others who are foreigners, a Korean and a Fil-Am who are also preparing for the board examinations in their own countries.

I take it Kuya Ben B. is not one of the SU Lib Controllers anymore? He was my Dorm Manager at Ipil Cottage when I was a freshman.

And can someone post pics of the booth area (assuming the "traditional activity" is still being done).

Right about now usually namarug na ang mga kawayan na mga haligi... hehehe

    Nice one, Skully.

While you're at it, can I request you to snap photos of MoNaPil (Molave/Narra/Ipil Cottages)? It would be a welcome sight for those of us who have spent most of our college time in that area.
