affordable raman ilaha hotel didto. 3 star hotel rate was i think 32USD per room per night for their family suite with breakfast na. as for shopping, there is Ben Thanh Market (night market) and Saigon Square 1 & 2 (aircon version). Basta maayo ka mu-haggle, naka-barato mi ug buy northface bags, abercrombie & american eagle shirts, etc...

i got a chance to go to vietnam for work last year.. sa ako experience, ok ang vietnam - food, hotels, bars and even tourist spots naa.. daghan pud pinoy didto..even our very own Jolibee naa banch sa Ho Chi Minh City (old name Saigon)..but be careful lang gyud sa ila motors, kay mas daghan pa ang motors nila sa mga 4-wheel cars..even mga office gals in mini-skirts pwerte hanas kaayo mopabulhot sa motor!.. I was based in Hanoi (northern city capital), daghan gyapon masuroyan..Daghan pinoys didto, we meet every sundays sa church kay naa man daghan catholics pud didto..u can even join Filipino club in Hanoi organized by fellow pinoy OFWs there..

one thing problema nila is communication..very few lang can understand and talk in english..u have to understand as well hot to speak vietnamese bisan ginagmay lang especially mokaon ka , naa ka paliton sa grocery or mall etc.. over-all, friendly ang mga vietnamese..

try to visit Halong Bay, 1hour travel from Hanoi in northern part..

Enjoy and post diri after inyo trips!
