Hi guys I just want to share some tips that can help for your weight loss this is taken from a book called "High blood Pressure lowered naturally" by Linda M. Sciullo and Sherryl D. Wade..
BREAKING BAD HABITS
Some bad habits are hard to break, especially when foods is involved.
Here are some habits that put on those extra pounds we carry:
Gulping down food.
-Put your utensils down after each bite. It takes several minutes for the stomach to tell the brain that it is full, so eating slowly will help you realize you're full before you overeat.
Eating food out of the original container.
-Take out an appropriate serving and return the container to its proper place. By eating directly out of the container, you are more likely to eat too much.
Eating everything on your plate.
-Try to leave something on your plate. In some Oriental countries, this is considered a high compliment because it shows that you have had plenty to eat. If you have been taught to clear your plate and not waste food, learning to leave a small portion on your plate will be good for you.
Drinking a diet soda so you can eat a candy bar.
-Many doctors even recommend avoiding products with artificial sweeteners. In an American Cancer Society study of 78,000 dieters, people using artificial sweeteners gained more weight than people not using substitutes. The people thought they were cutting back by using artificial sweeteners, and they didn't limit their calories overall. Artificial sweeteners may even increase or maintain your desire for sweets.
Eating a big lunch and dinner even when you're not hungry.
-If you satisfy your hunger pangs with a small, healthy snack when you get home from work, eat smaller portions for dinner. That's what skinny people do. The same goes for your kids: Let them eat when they're starving(like right after school), and don't force them to clean their plates at mealtimes. Choose what they eat, but not when or how much.
Saving calories through the day so you can binge at night.
-Eat a healthy breakfast, a hearty lunch and a small dinner. You'll lose weight if you eat all your daily calories in your morning meal, but you'll gain weight if you eat that meal at night. Most binge eaters eat very little for breakfast and lunch, then stuff themselves in the evening. If you eat normally throughout the day, you won't feel so much like bingeing at night. Researchers at Tulane University found that people who ate their last meal at least eight hours before they went to sleep lost between five and 10 pounds a month. The participants did not change the amount of food they ate, or the number of calories, just the time of day it was eaten. Eating most of our daily calories early in the day seems to allow the food to be used to produce energy. Therefore, fewer calories are left over to change into fat.
Watching television while eating meals.
-Sit down and really enjoy what you are eating.
Rewarding yourself with food or using food to fight stress or depression.
-Rather than using food as a release or reward, buy yourself a gift or treat yourself to a favorite activity.
Going grocery shopping when you are hungry.
-If you are hungry, you will be tempted to buy more, and you are more likely to buy high calorie foods. Make a shopping list of things you need and stick to it.
