ah. maybe the pit didnt bite that hard coz the dog knows that he has become a guinea pig. hehe
but anywas, i saw National Geographic. Grabe ang croc og ang snaping turtle! reptiles daw have the most massive bites(bias ang katong scientist). but i saw the documentary, they had repeated samples on a single subject, so i guess they were looking for the highest pressure on a subject.

according to that show, "5 of each breed was tested for more accuracy, German Shepard, Mastiff, Labrador, Huskie, American Pit Bull Terrier (APBT) and Rottweiler" - and given the fact that these dogs attacks on command, releases on command, means that they are all fit enough to have undergone and passed protection or schutzhund type training - making those selected 5 good enough to represent their breed in general.

if u watched the video, it was clear that all the dogs tested were trained to bite, given that they only bit the arm where the protective glove was worn. so i think the test was good enough. haha, makatawa ko sa mga pit lovers kay nagdefend intawn cla sa ila favorite breed which is ok man pud! hehe

caloyski: sakto ka sir - ana na mga Schutzhund dogs (schutzhund is German for "protection dog") - or dogs who have been trained in protection or police-type work. in the US, only the fittest dogs pass this test.

kung ikaw ang host sa show, would you really stand still while an untrained, or maybe unpredictable dog launches at you with only your arm covered? ang imo palang hinuon nawng ang paakun...

DuBciTY - sakto sir! labi na kung ang bisaya nga iro rabison - maski tilapan lang ka, if you have an open wound - patay ka

(ok, im just kidding - rabbies is a serious virus and should never be taken lightly)

i own, breed & trained Gsd's,rotts & pitbulls.and based on experience during several incidents, that among the 3 breeds mentioned, the pitbull has the strongest bite pressure & at the same the most tenacious 'biter'.during trainings,i tend to witness these when i try to pry the toys in their mouths.the rotts & gsd's,i can pry them easily even when their still on the verge of their drives to have a grip on the certain toy...but with my pitbull,jughead?..i cant,i have to either use a breaking stick or raise the tone of my voice for him to let the toy go.he has, also hanged on stire & jumped 7ft to hang on to it,with still a strong grip even at a 15 or 20mins time span of continous hanging.& at one time, has accidentally intermangled with my large male rottweiler (oversized for a male rott-he's 29 & 3/4 inches at the shoulder, compared to my pitbull which is 22.5 inches @ the shoulder),& my male rott just cried in agony.had i not intervined during that tym,it would end up in a disastrous way...for my rott.

a dog's bite pressure is said to be based on-head size, size of the jaw muscles (masseter) & the willingness of the dog to bite.and i can actually say that in some way or another,it has some scientific basis.but at the same time, quite skeptical also.coz based on my dog's head size-my rott has a 24.5 inch head measurement while my pit has a 22.5 inch head measurement but when it comes to their bite pressure, its the other way around instead of the rule of the thumb..or maybe im wrong
