def leppard were the pioneers of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal genre along with Iron Maiden..

they(Iron Maiden, Def Leppard) are responsible why these big 4 of thrash metal did exist (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax)

Def Leppard in their prime is way way way better than most of these bands today.......

    popular artists
artists that were influenced by Def Leppard

Lars Ulrich - was a fan of them in their early material
Dimebag Darrell - was a fan of Pete Willis.......... if you don't know pete willis then youre not a fan of def leppard.

the offspring - did use the intro of Rock of Ages to their song "pretty fly for a white guy"..and during their concert they did also play the intro of "wasted" before playing the kids aren't alright..

John Mayer - Did cover their song Photograph and Hysteria.....

    - sakto jud mo, "Dili mo tinood na fan aning bandaha, kung "2 steps behind" or "when love & hate collide" ray inyong ganahan. Steve Clark era is the best! Gatoo ra sila nga ni revive diay ang Def Leppard og kanta ni Mariah Carey na "Bringing on the heartbreak".

    - Nakakita ba mo kadtong movie/documentary entitled "Historia". it is a film about the band, starting from their early days in Shefield until the death of Clark. Gipasalida to sa ona sa Cinemax.

    - WHAT IF? kung wala mapongkol si Rick Allen? would "Hysteria" be the second best selling album of all time in UK, next to MJ's Thriller?

    - we somewhat overlooked Rick Savage bass playing. He is a major factor of DL's music. Noticeable bass riffs are "Gods of War" and "Hysteria". Simple yet very catchy.

    - One of the few British metal bands that survived even during the new wave era. Def Leppard is the reason why I wasn't in love with Morrissey.

    - Underated fave tracks of mine: "Stand Up (Kick Love into Motion)", "I Wanna Touch U", "Gods of War", "Stagefreight" and "Heaven Is".

    - As a kid, I was brought up to believe that London is considered as the "Gay Capital of the World", but Def Leppard brought a new meaning to it. It has been proven that Joe Elliot is not the same wavelength with Rob Halford (Judas Priest) or Freddie Mercury (Killer Queen). I was able to learn some British cultures becoz of watching some documentaries about this band, especially when MTV featured them on the "Rockumentary" show.

    - Speaking of MTV, I was wondering why they were not featured on that defunct "Unplugged" show. Other worthy bands that should have been there are: Metallica, U2 & Gn'R. Jon & Richie of Bon Jovi invented that concept of an acoustic set, when they performed live at the 1989 VMA, they played "Wanted" and "Prayer". But a month after, Alex Colletti and some other producers stole that concept and came up with that acoustic show.

Mas ganahan gani ko kadtong 4 piece ra sila, just like the early 'adrenalize' sessions.

    - naa ni comment diri about producer Mutt Lange. Parehas jud sound ang "Adrenalize" sa kang Bryan Adams nga "Waking up the neighbors". paminawa ang similarities sa "Stand Up" og "Thought I'd Died and Gone to Heaven" bryan adams. murag the same year man tingale ni na release. cge pa ko paminaw adto og "RickDees and the Weekly Top 40" sa Y101.

gods of war ? its one of my favorites.. kick ass guitar riff by clark..

finally naa na gyud tawn REAL def leppard fan who doesn't talk about when love and hate collide and two steps behind

@nashsatriani.. the adrenalize sessions was quite ok, but not really up to the standards of their first 4 albums..

pero sabotable pud to na time its mainly bec. of steve clarks absence kay gi rehab siya ani na time, so gamay ra iya input ani...

fav. tracks nko sa adrenalize kay..

White Lightning - the song is a tribute to steve.. great riff great solo
    tonight
    stand up

in the post clark era they only made one decent album.. and that is euphoria.. bec, they indeed went back to their roots, the big guitar sound..

diri ko naka realize na guitar playing is not about technique.. coz we all know how good Viv Campbell as a technician......bati ila combinasyon ni Phil kay puro sila techy na guitar player.

while kang Steve/Phil combination kay unique, they play different parts.. phil on those fast guitar solo's while Steve on those great guitar riffs......that's one of the reasons why he is called the "riff master"..

even Mutt Lange was always amazed with "Steve's Riffs"..

and Sav called him a genius...... kay unorthodox and iya style sa riffs..... thanks to his classical background.....

steve may not be flashy but he put a lot of heart and soul into his playing..

who says they are awful live? fav. ni depechebox ay

YouTube - Def Leppard - Die Hard The Hunter (Live 198

look at the guitar duel between Clark and Collen....... great solo.. they're fun to watch... this is how you play live.

hahaha mao mao, maypa si Mariah Carey kay dili 2 steps behind or When love and hate collide ang iya gi pili..

instead she digs the earlier material sa Def Leppard which is quite cool....

on through the night album... kon wala ko nasayop morag this the last album recorded before the accident of rick allen.. then 1987 came the hysteria...
FYI: ive read in some mag that the accident of their drummer and the death of steve clark happened just few days somewhere or around new years eve. so joe elliot prays every new year nothing bad will happen to them

  10. #80

and they just recently played Wasted live and as usual Rick Allen kicks ass..
