I would get the P2 555 + 5850 especially if you can unlock all 4 cores
Imo, the video card should be a bit of a higher priority over cpus. many articles state that games run optimized with max of 3 cpus. the 555 should be more than capable handle every game you throw at it. Graphics cards on the other hand are usually the bottleneck....
the problem is I dont have any experience in overclocking & unlocking cores...
@arconis: unlocking cores is really easy boss. just make sure your motherboard has that feature. To unlock cores, just go to bios and enable the ACC feature. Whether unlockable or stable ang imo cores kay chance ra nuon...
OC is harder to do but 555 BE man imo kuhaon right? BE (black edition) has unlocked multipliers so dali ra kaayo OC ana. Just churn up the multipliers. You don't have to change voltages as long as gamay ra OC imo buhaton![]()
@pow3rmov3
Since you suggested on the P2 555 BE, then I think I will get the P2 555 BE.
I have read that if mag overclock I need to get a better CPU cooler/fan, I dont know lng if pwede ra ordinary memory? like those Kingston 2x 2 Gb DDR3?
Phenom II X2 555 + ATI HD5850 - will go for these....
Phenom II X2 555 = if you get lucky with these black editions you get a quadcore instead of a dual core cpu...
ATI HD5850 = it's a lot faster than 5770's out there and needs 2 pci e connector rather than 1 on the 5770's..
@ts Most motherboard manufacturers changed the acc feature to ucc (unlock cpu core) specially on the 890 chipsets. As for additional info from powermove you can simply enable the unlocking of cores by going to the bios..hit the oc tweaker browse to the unlock cpu core which by default was disabled..just enable it and you are good to go...(depends on the motherboard though but only some minor changes and this will help you get through it)

mmmmhhhh i guess ang first brad.....
Intel Core i5 750 + ATI HD5850 is the best pair if you allow me to interchange.
As per your choices, Phenom II X2 555 + ATI HD5850 is the better pair.
kng mag OC brad, mo suggest ko better heat sinks jud especially unlock + OC. cpu OC and RAM OC is different bosing. you can OC ur cpu even with ordinary RAM....
Regarding the video cards, another alternative sa 5850 is having two 5770's in XfireX. 5770's in Xfire is generally faster than 5850's for practially the same amount of money. HOWEVER... take note that some/few games dont support Xfire cards. Another thing to consider is having a crossfire capable motherboard (i recommend at least x8 x8 ). Xfire mobos are usually more expensive... Also, power consumption kay mas dako sa duha ka 5770's nya mas init.....

^^^ CORRECT!
why settle for the X2 555BE? cuz i don't get it..sorry.
how much is the budget actually?
if u have the bucks to burn, u might as well have better processor.
and how much is the X2 555BE? is it at the price range of the i3 530 | 540? around 7K?
although it real that games needs great VC..but that's half the truth.
there are games that taxes the CPU heavily and it becomes the bottleneck..
what are the games you're planning to play anyways?
