How can Carl Sagan give conclusion that the universe has existed eternally when it is logically invalid?

The concept of infinite past of physical objects is not possible.
An event (like a death of a star) involves finite series of events or time before the event occurred.
Let's just say that before the Big Bang, there were simple forms of Gas and Dust. If these Gas and Dust were always there (eternal), then how come the Big Bang exploded some 14 Billion Years ago? why not 500 Billion years ago?
Simply put, the idea of an infinite past of physical objects is not possible.


Even NASA has acknowledged, that our Universe is about 14 Billion years old. That means to say, the universe, had a beginning.

Correction. Time was created during the big bang. Its the singularity(the universe in its form before the bang) from which the big bang "exploded" from. That could have been always there. The point is, why invoke the supernatural to end causation? Why not stop at the universe itself? Also, Occam's Razor(look it up if you haven't heard of it)

Set aside biblical passages and let's talk about Science and Logic.
Then let's see who is more logical: Theist or Atheist.

Let me start with this First Argument:

1. Whatever begins to exist has a cause.
2. The universe began to exist.
3. Therefore, the universe has a cause.

are you seriously asking theists to set aside biblical passages? please tell me you're kidding. if you're a theist, chances are you believe in creationism. if you're a creationist, chances are you reject the BIG BANG theory. and no, you will not find the BIG BANG in the Bible so stop treating the Bible like a science book. furthermore, stop comparing who's the more LOGICAL, because obviously, if creationists are logical people, then they would not discredit EVOLUTION or treat it as a false claim.

lastly, the debate regarding CAUSALITY has been repeated again and again. this thread is going nowhere.
