My take on that is, it is already too murky to find the true origin of Aspins, considering all the mixes and all the irregular breeding that is happening in our country. The information that humper has posted earlier in this thread, has really explained it well.
The Dingo in Australia is believed to be an Asian native dog that was brought to Australia many many years ago. The dog became feral and has completely adapted to the wild environment and later became a true wild dog. That's probably the reason, why the Dingo looks so ordinary and so much like a domesticated dog even though they are wild. Perhaps the original Aspins may have looked like a Dingo.
Standardizing Aspins is possible, but it may be difficult if we base it on it's original form.
