HELP! My external 160gb IDE HDD not detected

As you suggested i do:
I have already tried to set the 160gb IDE drive to slave mode (i assume this would be the normal setting for an externa HDD). As what the illustration shows, setting the IDE HDD to slave mode setting requires to have no jumpers on the connector pins. Tried it this way and it doesn't work.

Tried it with the jumpers on the connector pins set to master settings and whaddayaknow, IT BLOODY WORKED! YES!!!

Tried renaming the drive and then reformatting, now i can reformat it.
But unfortunately still, it won't allow me to reformat it as FAT32 instead of NTFS.

we try to used Disk Operating System formatting your drive

simply follow

1. start
2. run
3. cmd

Typed format /FS:FAT32 X:

change letter X on what letter on ur hard drive in Windows.

>>> your drive now is begin formatting in FAT32

4. Done

What is your OS? In XP there is a size limit. You cannot create a fat32 drive beyond 32gb.
