Need help from Linux Lucid Lynx users

If you are referring to the downloaded themes which are .tar.gz, just drag them to the Appearance>Themes dialogue box. Install na na siya dayon.

If it's an app. Daghan possibilities ana. Best imo iopen ang tarball using archiver. Tan awa unsay sulod. Usually ang source code sa application is in that format. If that's the case, kinahanglan pa na icompile. Usahay pod within the tar.gz is a .deb. Sulayi lang jud tan aw ang contents. Basin gani naay instruction didto.

oh i see....search ko for more themes pero gamay raman for ubuntu..mao mao raman ug mga styles..hehe.

naka bantay pud ko sa mga ubuntu themes, naa sila Computer sa desktop. also mga drives...how they do that?

and also, do i need any special software? antivirus? registry cleaner?

regarding sa imong themes or pabeauty sa ubuntu bisitahi ang gnome-look.org nya kung pasabot nimo virus nga mga .exe or window viruses dili na kinahanglan. og dili na pod kinhanglan ang registry cleaner kay wa registry anglinux og dili parehas ang windows og linux unhan ta ka daan di na pod ka magkiinahanglan og defrag... enjoy lang gamit sa ubuntu basta basa lang pod before click or click usa before basa?

yup.visited that site pero murag mao mao ra gyud ug mga dagway...

any useful IT application i can install in ubuntu?

everytime i view files, i need to set it to list view then 33% ... can i set this as default view for all the files inside the folder?

also suggest audio player program.

after playing around the copy and drag command. im sure my folder is in the desktop but i dont seem to see it anywhere... any idea how i can see the folder? --- howd i know? when i try to copy it again from another location, it says, it already exist...
**** i have the solution...just disable and renable show desktop under configuration editor, if you dont have that under system>preferences, then in terminal type gconf-editor and go to apps->nautilus->preferences ; uncheck then recheck show desktop....welcome back icons... ( must be a bug or what..? )

after so much playing around, now i figured it out, just in case wala sa system>preferences...click on main menu then enable some stuff in there...

ok guys, salamat sa feedback, this time, i need it networked to two ubuntu...

as reading some forums sa google.

ako na enable ang ssh on both ubuntu ( sudo apt-get install ssh )and set both to static. and set unit A to share folder name TEST

on Unit B, i click places then select connect to server, fill out necessary info. then connect. nag error man cya but when i check under places, naa na cya sftp for (username) (ip) -------- when i click on it. i can open everything fully. i mean..tanan gyud ma open nako..even sa mga folders nga i dont want them to access...

did i miss something?

and how to disable these sharing things in unit A?

i tried windows share, which is an easier method...but i wana ask you guys if saon pag solve sa prob nako sa above concern.

maayo unta makablo pod mi giunsa nimo pagsugod sa sharing.... para unsa ang ssh para sftp?

kung sharing lang sa folder mao ni akong paagi sa ubuntu:

sudo nautilus

adto ko sa file system>home nya naa folder nga public mao to akong gishare by right clicking nya sharing options tick nako ang "share this folder" nya moreklamo na siya about "sharing service is not installed". ok install lang nya humana install tick na pod nako ang allow others to create ang delete kay para mak-upload ko sa server gikan sa clients. nya giapil na lang pod nako ang guest og pili para lingaw human adto ko clients right click ko sa top panel add to panel ngita sa "connect to server" nga icon pilit nako sa panel.

karon kay inig launch sa connect to server na pa man pilian nga server type aw kadto ginstall nako windows share man diay so pili nako windows share. nya fill-in the blanks na lang dayon ang port wala na nako butangi kadto na lang folder nya inig launch na mangayo pa gyud password sa server aw ang login paswd akong gibutang... sa ingani nga pagi kabalo ko motroubleshoot kay kabalo man ko asa ko nagsugod..
