    Grade 1 to Grade 6 = 6 years
1st year to 4th year in high school = 4 years
1st year to 4th year in college = 4 years
a total of 14 years then edad sa bata 20 years old na.

    Proposal term cycle:

ngano wala man sa equation ang Kinder1 & Kinder2?? dili diay na apil sa pag count of number of school years?? pwede diay diretso grade1 dayon??

& besides ngano i pareha man nato ang atong educational system sa present educational system sa uban countries? nga dili man pareha ang society.. e.g. did2 sa US when you're 18, most likely you're out the house.. mas independent sila, w/c is very different sa society diri..

& if ang goal sa additional 2 yrs. is pra they'd be prepared to work after mag graduate sa HS.. then what? for the rest of their lifetime janitors, salesgirls, waitresses ang masang pilipino? (of course ing ani ang situation ron BUT mas mo daghan gyud if ma implement ni) , & then what? mawala na ang ila gana to go to college.. & live for the day, the moment kay ang ila sweldo sakto ra for the monthly expenses... mao cguro ni gusto nila mahitabo, the rich will be richer, the poor will remain poorer not only in financial terms but also in educational attainment.. my view is ang gi protect sa government is ang multi million dollar industries sa cronies, mahayahay ang mga datu

it makes sense. it would be an added expense for the parents but improving the standard of our education should be a top priority. daghan tuod graduates but wala tarong work coz when they graduate they are not as competitive as the rest... so they settle with mediocre jobs that doesn't have anything to do with their degree. however, i think adding 2 years is only one step. daghan pa kau kailangan ayuhon when it comes to public education like the ratio of teachers and students, facilities, and the curriculum itself. its going to be a very long process but hopefully naa positive effects. again, lets keep our fingers crossed and hope that this is not all talk.

We must wait for the full details of the proposal before we give comments and calling someone as stupid or dumb.

practical arts mastery is a technical skill like 1. woodworking(carpentry, mason, etc), 2. machine shop (welding, automotive, etc), 3. agriculture/farming (land prep, fishery, etc) and 4.Electricity/electronics(radio electronics, comp tech, etc).

comment lng, sa public school di na man sila mudawat ug students na diretso ug grade 1 kay dapat kahibaw na mubasa ang bata by then, mao dapat i enroll jud ug kinder or day care. im not 100% sure basta sa zapatera elem skul ing ana and nakakita sad ko ana one time sa tv patrol cebu. private schools pud di mudawat bata na wala ni agi ug prep unless kahibaw na mubasa or at least familiar man lng sa alphabet (but dont quote me on that coz i i could be wrong).

anyway, i think kana pa lng daan is a clear sign that our educational system is stepping up to make students more competitive when they graduate. english should also be used in public schools as the medium of instruction. being makabayan and patronizing our own language is well and good but we have to admit that we, as a nation, is dependent on the international market. in order to compete and survive we have to learn to communicate effectively. effective communication skills come in handy in the real world.

...on a lighter note, if all else fails and if fluent ka sa english then you can work in a call center and earn big.lol.

Re: the ratio of teachers and students
sa public school mostly naay gi enroll more than 5 or 7 ka mag soon then trabaho sa parents minimal or marginal.

    atay... +2 years napud?

+2 years = QUANTITY not quality
    Increasing effeciency = QUALITY

see the difference? It doesn't take a genius to know that.

Let's say naa kay trabaho then you have 4 hours to do it, because wa kay klaro mu manage sa imong time or wa kay system sa imong work you need additional 2 hours to finish it(QUANTITY) but if you are very effecient in managing your time and have an organize system of working then you finish it on time(QUALITY).

Yeah, it's rocket science that's why it's too hard to see that(being sarcastic)...solution...+2 more years...then what? after graduation... Tambay or tigmasahe( which this is the case sa atong mga OT ug PT na looy kaau) or work with minimum wage... case closed.

50% of people living in singapore are foreigns hahahaha lol (but again i only read that somewhere so im not entirely sure).

anyway, if ever ipa tupad ang 2 child policy dugay pa sad kau na kay ang mga nang iskwela ron naa na man daghan kau igsuon. problem man gud is kung kinsa pa ni ang di ka afford pa skwela ug buhi sa ilang anak mao pay kugihan kaau mu reproduce. way problema sa couples who can afford to send their children to decent schools... but that is already a different topic.

if the government is serious about making reforms, sakto tong itrain daan ug vocational sa highschool pa lng. i think naa na man na kay i remember back then naa man electives like dressmaking, welding ug daghan pa. so i think what the government can do is to improve on that area and invest in honing the skills of the students, di lng kay puros academics, sports and other extra curricular activities.

the additional 2 years will give more time for students to improve and learn, but the time factor is not enough. kailangan pud naa "substance" kumbaga... that students actually learn something useful other than additional useless knowledge that we all learned from school.
