The notion of sacrifice is not born out of the idea of not enough, it is born on the idea of "for the sake of someone." I don't know how would you reconcile your idea with the love given by your parents to you. The essence of sacrifice will always be present in love, as well as duty, responsibility, honor, friendship, etc... Only people aligning themselves with hedonistic ideals can summarize such.
