For the guys that disses boss dirt? dude wake up dirt pedals will only shine if you have the fingers, proper amp and guitar good P.U, if you can't sound good on a DS-1 pedal then probably you're playing is CRAP..I really can't stand people dissing BOSS..there a descent pedal. as an example Steve Vai and Joe Sat uses DS-1,Cobain uses DS-1 And DS-2, Furciante keeps his DS-2. They can be a bit nassal and its part of their character but sure they can deliver the dirt..Cannibal Corpse can have those ENGL and the Boogies but 4 the info. those guys uses STOCK MT-2 one time or another how about that.. the problem is a lot of guys doesnt' really understand how to use a dist. Using a hard rock designed dirt for metal is total crap and so is the other way around..Local Band Fast pitch guitarist uses an MT-2 Im not a big fan of them but their guitarist really knows how to tame the mt-2. Naa rajud na sa pag timpla.. After all tone is a subjective matter to everyone...Buttom line is BOSTON and BOSS dirt pedals will do the job if you know the how's...I totally agree that boss is an ace when it comes to modulation and delays.. That's what there known for from the very start, with their dd-2 and the CE-2 and if you have them then you're keeping a jewel. AND YEAH as of now I'm gunning for the EMA PISDIYAUWOT or the the BlackSTAR DistX .. Para maiba napud...
if you're gunning for blackstar distx, to me pesonally(since i've tried it), its better to get the HT-5 amp if you want its sound, that pedal doesnt suit that well to alot of amps(such as a vox variant or fender variant amp), it sounds good with either a marshall or a marshall variant(which is what blackstar is)

@TS you can try Artec Pedals, these are really hi-fi sounding pedals although ang ila tone pot dli kau responsive or the lack of it in some of their pedals, you can do alot with these by just knowing how to use your guitars tone and volume control, IMHO they are better than boston pedals (dli lang ma mod)

Thnx for the info bry... What I was really planning to do with the Blackstar is to be paired with the Bad monkey.. Have you tried to test its sound with an OD pedal pushing its tube? I'm intrigue with its tube plus it is loaded with a higher voltage compare to other pedals so i think u know what I'm talking to... And i want to replace its tube also.. Any great info from you would be much appreciated..tnx

by the way I'm looking for a hybrid kind of sound between the fireball ENGL and the Mesa Mark IV kinda sound,..

i guess i forgot to specify that the BOSS pedals i was referring to was the newly mass produced ones?...or didn't you read my very 1st post?...for the record, those pedals that vai, satch, fruciante, dave navarro, and all those players who use them use the ones manufactured during the earlier years...or i even read once that Vai used Keeley Modded DS1, which i also had before and it sounded Great!...the newly massed produced STOCK ones?...am not an expert but i believe you can hear the difference in the quality...and the situation here is that NOT EVERYBODY can afford the amps that you're referring to,especially the gigs you play here locally...most of the time you get a low end Peavy amp which also sucks...hate me all you want, but still, am stickin' by the fact that BOSTON and BOSS dirt pedals are Crappy...

yeah,..i guess BOSS and Boston pedals only shine when you got the fingers...good for you then if you can make them shine...i certainly cant no matter what i do...

so OD infront sa Blackstar Distx? it would be the same as using the dirt channel sa ht5 with Ht5 but i prefer doing the oD's gain at 10 oclock lang pero depende unsa ang level sa gain sa blackstar e set, if masubraan sobra na ka sensitive murag na microphone ang guitara,

but this set up will not always sound good samut na if bati jud ang amp, mao recommend ko get the blackstar amp and push it,

have you tried an ENGL? or mesa IV? ang engl ra ako na try is kana used na soverign and wala kau ko na impressed sa tonal options sa amp, i think if i wanted more i'd prefer the egnater rebel 20/30 mas ganahan ko sa sound, sa mesa mas preferred nako ang express 5:25 nindot kau response,

    pero overall sa egnater ko
