Nalzaro: Time for Osmeņa to shut up

RECONCILIATION is really not in the vocabulary of Ceby City mayor and south district congressman-elect Tomas Osmeņa. Even if the elections are over and unity is the call at this stage, he still attacks and criticizes his political opponent. His politics is based on hatred and vindictiveness.
Tomas's election opponent, businessman Jonathan "Atan" Guardo, has conceded defeat. During a press conference, Guardo even congratulated Osmeņa and wished him luck, then quoted Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile's campaign ad punch line of, "gusto ko happy ka."

But instead of appreciating Guardo's gesture, Tomas countered: "Gusto ko pilde ka." That's how childish the man is. Guardo had acknowledged defeat but was still insulted by Tomas. Ako pay Guardo tubagon sad nakog, "gusto ko masakiton ka." Or use an even harsher phrase.
Also, Tomas continued to attack Gov. Gwen Garcia by again calling her "Queen of Darkness" because of her failure to fulfill her promise to deliver one million votes for Lakas-Kampi presidential bet Gilberto "Gibo" Teodoro Jr. Tomas said Gwen's clout in the province is waning because her endorsement of Gibo proved worthless.
Tomas cited his support of Liberal Party vice presidential bet Mar Roxas. Garcia earlier described it as a "kiss of death." But Roxas ended up getting more votes in the province compared with Loren Legarda, the candidate endorsed by One Cebu party.
I partly agree with Osmeņa. As I wrote in my Wednesday column, the result of the elections in the province is worth reflecting on and is a sort of a wakeup call for Gwen.
With her One Cebu party's well-oiled political machinery, people expected Gwen to get a very convincing lead against her opponent, Hilario "Junjun" Davide III, a virtual newcomer in the province's political scene. In 2007, Garcia defeated former third district congressman Antonio Yapha by almost half-a-million votes.
But now that the elections are over and provincial constituents have given Gwen another mandate, I think Tomas should stop interfering in Capitol's affairs. He should mind his own business, especially since he will now be representing the south district in the House.
Osmeņa has been criticizing the Province and yet his administration also failed to address Cebu City's basic problems. The city's roads have potholes, garbage is not efficiently collected and health services are not effectively implemented. Even his sister, Georgia Osmeņa, has been complaining.
Are his attacks against Capitol a sort of smokescreen for his failure in managing the City Government's affairs well or are these a matter of pride even if his candidate for governor lost?
Tomas should shut up and focus on the needs of his constituents rather than look for trouble. His attempt to get even with Capitol is just a waste of time and effort.
By the way, who paid for that sign board marked SUP (South Underwater Property) mounted at the South Road Properties (SRP)? If City Hall paid for that, I think it's a total waste of taxpayers' money.
Osmeņa already wasted a big amount of government funds during the campaign period by distributing dole-outs to senior citizens, persons with disability and graduating public high school students. He launched the SRP and held a series of political activities using taxpayers' money.
Super bobby! who paid for the suroy2x sa sugbo? who paid for the balili? who paid for the airsoft gov's cup?? Who paid for the blunders of the province?? BE FAIR! Show us reality!
