As much as I know that some Cebuano priest really abused their authority which is sexual in nature , we also know that people tend to abuse also the position of the church in the society and specific to the Roman Catholic church , a very wealthy church ... daghan pod attempts na nangwarta ang katilingban and I firmly believe that probably half of the allegations , ni resort na lang ug FINANCIAL HELP ang church for the complainants not to pursue its case against some priest . you asked for an example and i gave you some. yes they're alleged and if you find comfort in that word and if it makes you sleep better at night, well by all means continue do so. asking people like me for a specific case that we personally knew about and not just taken from the media is liking asking us to go on a run-around. besides if someone here were to say they were victims of sexual abuse by priests and let's assume they are telling the truth but you and me, we don't know this. so when they declare it here, would you believe them? i don't know about you but i know i won't. my point here is you are asking for the impossible.

you yourself admitted there are priests who have committed sexual abuse but how many do you know are now serving time for it? i'm sure there are some but the number would pale in comparison to the number of "alleged" abusers. so is it too much stretch of the imagination to think that some of these abusive priests got away with it because they have help from the ranks?

btw, there's an obvious difference between the two of us, you still have your faith and i have lost mine a long time ago and no not because of events like these. i have lost my faith for much simpler reasons.

Doing some INVESTIGATION makes the IMPOSSIBLE into POSSIBLE . That is the whole point , we based our pre occupied opinions with pre program notions because if for some reason to include generalization na nakasala na gani ang 1 ka pari , mao na ang tan-aw sa tanan pari . The priest I know who abused or nakasala ug dako kay naa ra sa numero dili mo lapas sa tudlo sa akong isa ka kamot and I dont know where they are now . I still firmly believe that justice is served when the right time comes .

The abuse of priests are notoriously known for many years and I don't see any abuse are declining. If you were surprised that they're molesting boys, I bet you'll get a heart-attack if we find out that molesting of girls could be even larger happened inside the confessional.

It's time for another Reformation. But this time, suspend the practice of Catholicism in this country until all Diocese (or whatever the name of the Federation here) eliminate those $3x starved men masquerading as priest. sadly the extent of my investigation is googling and i'm afraid no matter how credible the articles i could point to you are, you're just gonna dismiss them. that's what i meant when i say you're asking for the impossible. while i'm not some pimpled face, easily impressed teenager i'm not a reporter either. so i don't have the credibility you are looking for. i do watch, read the news. i can distinguish the crap from the obvious truths. i can form my own conclusion based on logical assessment of what i have read and/or saw and not be swayed by preconceived notions, as you have suggested above.

the thing is i have no biases regarding the church and do i lack faith, i'm not out to trash it. so you and me, we could be reading that same new york times article & come up with differing conclusions. your faith will probably not let you see past the allegations but i don't have it so i don't have such hindrance.
