Saying this incident is a result of corruption in the Catholic Church is far-fetched. For me it's just a case of one bad apple threatening to spoil the rest of the bunch. If this same piano teacher did the same thing in a Protestant-run school, would that also be the fault of, say, Martin Luther?

The discussion has gotten way off line, if not off-topic. The issue is really a lot simpler than some make it out to be.
