my pup has HOD Hypertrophic osteodystrophy

MY 5 month old great dane puppy suddenly refused to stand up and have a very high fever and not eating she spends most of the time sleeping. her

today her fever is getting lower which is good.
ived been doing a little research and it seems that the problem subsides naturally in about a week or two.

does any1 have experience with HOD and how to take care a puppy suffering from HOD, she is practically bedridden only standing up to go pee and poo. she is a house dog and i dont own a cage.

gud day bai,during my clinician days i happen to attend to a st.bernard puppy with similar symptoms displayed by ur dane pup.the diagnosis of that st.bernard pup,is osteochondrosis.this condition may occur in any dogs actually but is heightened in growing dogs (usually 2 to 6 mos) specially large & giant breeds.this is actually a result of rapid growth & the joints affected are the limbe,elbows or stifle,it is not surprising that the condition gives rise to inflammation & limping.bring ur pup to the vet nalang jud to be properly assessed & be given its ample medication.but usually ang advised treatment is rest & anti inflammation & pain medication.

thnx humper yes she is under medication. aspirin ra man ang gi prescribe. but she really has a hard time walking and standing up. her condition is getting better well her fever is... katong st. bernard na pup how long was it that it got better?

wala man boss but she eats a lot less than normal ako nalang gi hatagan ug dextrose powder nga timplahan ug tubig
