They're there because the money is there. There are hardly any local defense contractors because there is no money.

i think they needed that in order to keep their industries alive. what would happen to boeing and lockheed martin if they aren't buying or investing on tech dev anymore. that's a large industry in the us, and it's making them billions. they don't want to lose that. and also, it makes a good deterrent.

edit na, we never have one nor ever have plans for F/A-18, too expesive to own, but we do have one offer before on F16, i think it was cory who turn down the offer!!
