Philippine mutual fund companies are doing so well in terms of growth and returns! Check out this link: Investment Company Association of the Philippines

Here’s my personal favorite:

Philequity Fund, Inc. 64.15%

Last year alone, Philequity Fund, Inc. had a staggering 64.15% return. That means your P1,000 investment gained P641.50 in profit. Well, you cannot possibly have that kind of return if you have your money invested in a bank savings account with .05%-1% per annum interest.

mutual fund is a group of managers that invest your money. they are experts in their field maybe invest them in bonds, stocks, (national and international) etc.. if you don't have the time to learn in investing it's better to give them your money and let them do the thinking..

But always remember that in investing the return is not always consistent because our economy is the number one factor. the reason for such high return is the economy doing good and maybe low interest rates. but for some time these things change and so are the investment returns. if there is bear market maybe there will be negative returns. and on bull market a high positive return.

i agree with sir rcdy...to add to that, although investing in mutual fund companies guarantees no fixed interest, it's way better than saving your money in the bank. If you're planning on long term savings, I strongly suggest investing in mutual fund companies.
