I too am a fan of Cesar's way, but didn't he use e-collar for those problem dogs? The dogs he uses in his video are his pack and as pack leader they follow him wherever just as the alpha in a canid pack, i.e. whether it be wolves, jackals, coyotes, dinggos, etc.. Check out though that he walks them in the countryside, not in the city of Los Angeles where there would be too much distraction.
I also am a fan of Jan Fennell from England who wrote the book "The Dog Listener." She developed a method called "Amichien Bonding." ("ami" French for friend; "chien" French for dog) Check out her website

There are many methods used, clicker, positive reinforcement, etc...however, what I don't understand is why people send their dogs to trainers and are not part of the training process? To me it diminishes the bonding between the dog and his/her owner (who I call the dogs "person"), and most importantly the dog's "person" does not get to know his/her dog better, i.e. how the dog learns, socializes, deal with new situations, etc...know the dog's personality. I am not a trainer/behaviorist but when I had to train my oldest pit bull, I had to register him in Beginners Obedience Class and be there once a week for seven weeks. Than, I registered him for AKC CGC certification (Canine Good Citizen Certification) and I had to go once a week (for two hours sessions) for seven weeks before he was tested by independent AKC CGC evaluators to be certified. I really enjoyed taking him to class every week, I learned a lot about him, we bonded, and helped in establishing that I was the alpha.
Can we have those type of classes here in Cebu where the owners are required to participate? If so, I will be the first to enroll my other two pit mixes who would benefit from obedience training with other dogs. I don't use the clicker method though. My dogs are very food driven, so I just give them treats (i.e. I bake atay (liver), put some garlic which they love).
Thanks for sharing your knowledge and videos. Great job in promoting responsible pet ownership!
