Disclaimer: Don’t hate me. These are obviously EXTREME examples. Everything has it’s place in moderation. This post is truly just a satire. Me poking fun at and industry to which I belong, and that I love.

I recognize that post processing is incredibly individual. For a lot of people, what happens in post is an extension of their art. Hold on to what makes sense to you artistically! By all means. I would NEVER want to discourage someone from creating their art! Really, these are simply things I personally WISH I would have thought of going in. I’m guilty of many of them myself. A lot of my older work is embarrassing to me because I broke some of these very rules early on.

Don’t be ashamed if you’re doing some of the stuff listed above! ANY true pro you love and respect was likely guilty of much of the same early in their careers! And again and again and again: if it truly floats your boat?! Who the heck am I to stand in your way!!!! Selective color on my friend selective color on!

a DSLR user who is not knowledgeable with photo editing processes is practically a handicapped photographer.

Pardon me, but I beg to differ on this statement. Graphic artist with knowledge of photoshop should not be named photoshopographer. Not all are like that. For me, photoshopographer is one who thinks he can get away with a badly taken photograph by altering it, to the extent the image does not exist anymore, using any image enhancing software.

I don't think naka sabot sa message sa writter ani... what iya mean is perfect your art sa photography, getting it the moment it clicks first before getting that "bad" habit of relying photoshop..

As a hobbyist, I am guilty of relying too much in photoshop since I first began two years ago and I have seen the difference of those naka gets na sa photographer ug ang starters, like me..

Nowadays, I just prefer the natural look although I could be oversharpening (I hope the pros could tell me):

Nowadays, everyone is a photographer per se... from the basic cellphone user with a built-in 1.3 mp camera up to the technicians orbiting the Hubble telescope. We have more photographers today than there were during the film days. Considering we are in the digital age it is a plus factor for a digital photographer to have a knowledge of digital image processing that starts from the digital camera up to the point before a photo comes out for monitor viewing and printing.

By the way, what are raw files for?

He he. When I was a yaa-oung noob! (Ala-Lion King). Photoshop or any other photo editing software is just a tool. It can be used properly or improperly (carefully saying 'improperly' - kay there are no 'rules' daw, just guidelines).

I hate HDR. Eng eng eng... (joke).

I've read that article. I'm a member of the DPS community. It's a good place to learn photography. So sad but true about photoshopographers. I mean,if you have this

kind of mentality and you are using a DSLR ( maypa nag point and shoot nalang ka, sayang ra imong camera og lens!) --mao nay photoshopograhpers para nako . Lagi, photography is also an art, but sa akong opinion, it is NOT an art if it's badly done. Then again, who am I to judge? Also, everyone can be a photographer, but not everyone can call themselves PROFESSIONAL photographers.
