Our new leaders no matter how idealistic she/he might be will always be swallowed/eaten whole by our corrupt system. Ila motto: If you cant stop them you must resign to avoid death. So, join na lang...makakwarta pa ka ug daghan.

    So we must change system.

    Like:

    - legislators should not be allowed to run for executive positions. legislators tend to make laws that are self-serving.
    - taxpayers run the economy, so they should have the loudest voice in choosing who should govern our country.
    - national officials should be accountable to any misdeeds especially if it is national in scope. He/she should pay it with his/her life...ibitay sa silya elektrika.
    - legislators should be making laws not participate in projects. lawmaker pero naay project nga karsada, taytayan, flyover. pastilan, do we really need a legislator para mahimo ang public works?
    - remove the pork barrel.
    - if the president and vice-president cannot produce sustainable jobs within 3years of their term, they should step down and must be banned from running again in any public office.
    - BIR TIN IDs must be used during elections, they serve as voters ID. this way wala nay gasto para rehistro.

.. my fave suggestion of leo-trams would be this ...

    - if the president and vice-president cannot produce sustainable jobs within 3years of their term, they should step down and must be banned from running again in any public office.

.. there should be a period in which all those "promises" made in the campaign period should be fulfilled, if not, they should be ousted. But all of those you've mentioned are wishful thinking, no offense, but that's how they all are. Coz those politicians will never make a LAW or change in our Constitution that would harm their deep pockets.

@pseud, yes, you are right, the Voters are to be blamed, well, not all voters, but sad fact of the matter is, most filipinos are gullible and vote for petty reasons. But, not being biased, Cebuanos are known to be intelligent voters, but our current Governor has squandered her position big time.

.. but, you have to look at the side of those " not so intelligent " voters and put into consideration how easily they can be decieved but the sugar coated words that are spewed out during their campaign.. such as I WILL BUILD ROADS, HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS, MAKE MORE JOBS . Of course, as a Voter your ear will be sharpen and you'll be enticed with those promises. But to make the long story longer, these politicians should keep their word. But then again, as history shows, they are liars.

hahaha....they may be wishful thinking but those are some of the drastic changes that we have to do for us to have good leaders.

Para nako, ang individual nga dugay na or nag sige na ug balik-balik sa elected position sa gobyerno is already a TRAPO. Even relatives of incumbent elected official who runs for public office is also considered TRAPO. So dili ni sila angay botohan. Pero how do you control or educate these gullible voters on who to vote?...hmmm, force the elected TRAPOs to pass a LAW that will pave the way for their extinction. Pero murag wishful thinking man gihapon...so? does this mean we are really in deep sh1t?
