Unfortunately, they don't. If you read the link that I posted about giant magnetoresistance, then you will know. In a way, they are similar, but everything is magnetic even information is magnetic. Optical storage link DVDs rely on optics for writing information. Information is physically written by the laser as bit line. Reading the information would still use lasers and measurement of the scattering of the reflected laser beam. They are similar but are different in nature. hehehe

this are the common model:
Seagate Barracuda, medalist, cheetah, WD Caviar, Hitachi HTS model... kana very common na model sa drive bro mao nay optical base. bsta if you see a motor in the drive you will know it is a disc base or SDD.

di na maoy pinaka importante bro. Ang head is responsible for read and write, ang PCB ang brain sa HD bro, the motor is responsible for spinning your platter. Tanan importante. It just would work without one component.

My boss tried to wipe the metallic substance, they say its platinum. Its called sillicon reclaim... I cannot confirm because i never physically saw and confirm it is indeed platinum. Our chemist say it is.

LED project light to the base of the photo transistor or LDR (light dependent resistor) and turn it on. Photo transistor turn to saturation mode and it will act like a mechanical relay contact.

Link bro as to what you are saying... I have never encountered a led on a SSD used in retrieving data. I only saw LED as a sign that it is busy or power on.

Yes! you are right! i got carried away from the idea of Hard Drive SSD. But I think we are refering to HD SSD. I could not find any posts that states another device.
