Canon 50D Phased out - Is it still worth buying?

I highly doubt it's phased out dude The guys at gizmo are wrong then. I saw the latest Canon SRP Price List and the Canon 50D is still there

its still in the price list but its been like 6months no new units...and no incoming units visible in up coming inventories (incoming delivers to CMP, i checked again last week)...that means in the foreseeable future no 50D's are coming to canon Philippines

the fact that ive tried ordering these items for many months and no stocks have been delivered and no promise to deliver can be made by them since its not available...and the words coming from canon representatives (including high ranking officials at canon philippines) ive talked to, all say "its being phased out" or "its phased out already" or "wala na na"
so when i say phased out na...that as far as canon marketing philippines unit/availability...okie

please don't consider us misinformed just because you got a glips of that list...and interpreted it the wrong way...the reason for that delay in deleting it from the list is to give RETAILERS with residual stocks (old stocks) to dispose of the items in their inventory. SRP list is for end users eyes...

in my opinion, at this time, get the 500D or 550D nalang for less money at similar & more features or if you want the robustness of the 50D get the more superior 7D nalang gyud dayon para walay mahay 3years warranty pa sa gizmo

i like the 50D...its a fantastic camera. but its unavailability is a big problem.
and with other similar if not better options available...why linger in something thats not available diba...

The EOS 50D isn't phased out. But majority of camera stores doesn't order the 50D anymore. So when you intend to buy a 50D they offer you a 7D instead. You can still get it from CMPI, but at a more expensive price which is almost equivalent to a 7D in HK.

seriously...can you get it at cmp? can you prove it...
coz ive placed pending orders sa cmp and they havent delivered yet...

i like the 50D...its a fantastic camera. but its unavailability is a big problem.

Thanks for letting us know mark. This just shows that Canon is prepping up for a new camera, perhaps a 60D?

guyz, just got off the phone in manila CMP and due to still high demand they will order a batch of 50D...thats after 5-6months of not ordering...

il get more details later if they will be getting body only or kit only or both...and quantity...

but as of now its not available pa gyapon...in the coming week cguro maabot daw.

okie...in any case iv already placed my order so stocks will be available but limited quantities

i just bought mine sa IT show sa suntec here in singapore for 1899 sgd. wahhhhhhhhhh so far ok man sya... mura ko kahilakon pagbasa sa mga post that said bati sya... nasayup ko palit?

Ngita man gani ko'g Canon EOS 40D to replace my freakin' 500D, kay perti hinaya.. hehe I need lightning fast bodies like 40D and 50D (can't afford the 7D).

but its a fantastic camera...use it...if you just know how to use it...lisod lupigon...

^^ yup that's what im doing now. as far my newbie opinion is concerned, mura'g ok man. mura'g satisfied ra man ko sa akong pictures na gtake... however, i noticed some limitations (?) as well but im only using the kit lens (18-55) so it's expected. i dont know what else to get. i might spend hundreds of dollars on something i dont really need... so im still getting to know the cam and its features.
